LOVESHACKFANCY
Scottsdale
Our main goal when we design LoveShackFancy stores is to make sure that they have a nod to the locations they are in. For Scottsdale, we had a bit of a head scratch….how to merge the over the top, girly aesthetic with the desert. After a few trials, James had an idea: the muse would be Georgia O’Keeffe…in a party dress. Her home, a traditional adobe ‘messa’, was to be the backdrop for the architecture. We decided that the palette would be a much paler pink, the walls to be a traditional stucco and we created a “no hard corner” rule for all hand-plastered doorways and walls…a nod to the desert vernacular.
We layered the store more minimally with more custom items: a hand-painted mural that wraps the top of the walls of the store inspired by the Colony Club in Palm Beach.
The store was a bit of a departure from our normal design for the brand and was enthusiastically welcomed by the locals who marveled at the new store.
