LOVESHACKFANCY
SAG HARBOUR
Sag Harbor is the “cool” village in the Hamptons (in our opinion) and the place where Rebecca Cohen opened the first LoveShackFancy store.
As the business expanded, so did the need for a larger space. Their team found an amazing shop just a few doors down; a former art gallery-the perfect blank (literally just white walls) canvass for us.
We decided to use each room to tell a different story; the first room was designed to look like we had uncovered things from the past: a trellis motif was hand-painted onto the brick wall and then sanded down to look as if it had been there for a century; beadboard ceilings were patched instead of being replaced, and brick was left exposed and distressed.
The second room was our “Garden Room”. We coffered the low ceiling to create a sense of intimacy, white-washed the stone walls and let Missi, the LoveShackFancy florist to cover every surface with flowers.
The third and last room was to be pure LoveShackFancy girl fantasy. We found an old mantle in the basement of the space and used it to anchor the room. Our decorative painter created a Swedish-inspired patina painted on a chair rail paneling that wrapped the room as well as distressed the LoveShackFancy wallpaper used.
