This 1,800sq ft store is in the Peter Marino designed Americana Mall in Long Island, New York. The brief from Rebecca Cohen was simple: ‘make this store fancy...very fancy.’
With our brief in hand, we started designing what is the most “fancy” store in the fleet taking inspiration from The Ritz in Paris where the brand has hosted many events and shows.
Starting from the façade, we designed custom moldings, antique mirror surrounds, and a hand-painted gold rose vine on the glass, finished off with PE Guerin door handles.
In the interior we created two rooms with a passthrough, anchored with two antique white oak doors sourced in the north of France.
We worked with a millworker on the wood wall panel moldings to create a softer, more feminine shape. Several color tones of pink were used throughout the store to create a sense of depth.
The fitting rooms suite is decorated with an entire wall of vintage mirror squares and gilded sconces; the fitting rooms themselves were covered in silk moire fabric inset into intricate wall moldings, to continue the feeling of luxury and texture.
We kept the furniture relatively simple using many antique Swedish pieces and large matching chandeliers. After a challenging timeframe for construction, the store opened in time for the holiday season to great success.
